Wood flooring installation using adhesive

Many solid and engineered floors can be installed with glue floor. . There are two main techniques for installing using adhesive, both to be explained. Please remember that the floors solid must always be stuck, do not use the floating method.

Floating floor method

Gluing the tongue and groove floor and the floating floor method is to lay the wooden floor. This creates a new floor, which is "floating" on the original soil. Engineered Floors can be floated on a solid floor under and it is the preferred method for laying engineered floors.

It is a good option when the moisture content in soil is unknown, as a waterproof membrane can be used between the ground and basement to prevent moisture rising in the new flooring. When a floating floor, underlayment must be used to cancel the effect of any echo and also provide a setting level effect on the subfloor.

This echo is caused by the two hard surfaces that have a space between them. The noise echoes in this void. The purpose of underlayment is to prevent any echo as the two hard surfaces will not be next to each other. The choice of underlayment is enormous for use when the floating floor that are all adequate.

To float the floor:

A D3 Adhesive PVA is noted wood used to bond the planks together.

Fit the floor by placing two beads of glue along the top and bottom of the groove joint. (It a common mistake to believe that the boards should be glued along the "language" – it simply push the adhesive too far into the joint and not not create a strong link between the boards.). Paste the full term of the Board of Directors | all along the boards that will prevent cracking of the Council.

Leave the joints and glue to dry before walking on the floor. The PVA, which has spilled or dripped on the boards can be easily striped a lacquered or oiled board, or sanded off a floor. It should be noted that thermo treated solid oak has less density of water therefore does not adhere to basic PVA wood and natural oak.

The glue down method

The glue method of mounting a floor is to use a specified adhesive applied directly to the basement such as F Ball B92 for the new floor to be glued directly on the floor origin. This is a very stable method, which is the recommended option for most solid wood and parquet floors.

For install a wood floor using an adhesive, you must first ensure that the subfloor is dry, level and structurally solid.

When installing over concrete, it is preferable to begin the first area using a PVA based primer to ensure good adhesion ground. Old concrete must be checked for moisture and contamination, or before the boards are provided. Floors engineering and solid flooring can be installed using the glue method.

Installation:

The first thing to do is to ensure The basement is completely flat, free of dust and dirt and if necessary has been primed. | In a satisfactory condition (see above) Working in an area just large enough to finish in 30 minutes, apply the adhesive on the subfloor with a trowel to the specified size ensure the entire surface notch basement has a very amount of glue.

Leave the adhesive for 12 hours and did not walk on the floor until it disappears completely.

Unlike the PVA adhesive, glue ground is very difficult to remove from the surface of the boards. Ensure that any spillage on the boards are wiped immediately before the boards have dried.

Adhesives are others depending mounting options used to fit flooring:

Adhesive sublayer support. The underlay has a sticky side covered with plastic wrap, which is peeled as the floor is fixed. Envoy multi, Elastilon and adhesive are Acoustalay 300/1000 types of adhesive backed underlay.
Precautions

It is imperative that the wood is given enough chance to acclimatize before being glued to the basement. Allow at least two weeks for a solid wood floor and 48 hours for an engineered wood floor.

Take a check moisture depth of the basement for latent or rising damp. In case of doubt apply an epoxy resin wet screen is recommended
