Information Parquet Jatoba
Today, one of the most popular wood when it comes to hardwood flooring is wood Jatoba or as we know, Brazilian cherry wood. This type of wood is known worldwide for its aesthetic appeal and beauty but also for its hardness and durability. Jatoba wood is used for flooring and furniture and it looks absolutely stunning when the final product is completed.
Origin
wood Jatoba or Brazilian cherry wood is not a cherry tree as the name suggests. These trees grow in South America, Central America, Caribbean Southern Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and the Caribbean. These trees grow to a height of 120 feet. The fruit, leaves and wood of the tree have been used for centuries by the people where these trees grow. The tree products are used for replacement drugs for the treatment of bronchitis and diarrhea. The tree is also known to have anti-fungal infections. Very often, the leaves are eaten as a natural energy booster.
However, the most important use for the tree or Jatoba cherry wood is from Brazil. Wood the tree has been used for decades in the furniture and flooring business. Due to certain characteristics of wood as rigidity and durability that is the natural beauty, the wood of the tree has become quite an important product on the market.
Appearance and properties
The sapwood of Brazilian cherry wood is gray with white. The heart wood turns orange-brown or salmon-colored red when it is fresh and it turns reddish brown, brown with dark streaks when it is dry. Because of its natural beauty, its durability, hardness and rich color, it is considered one of the most exotic wood known for all time. In addition to its warm red, wood is bright and is renowned for its durability and hardness. Since the wood is very dense, it is also a very strong wood.
Strength and durability
Jatoba is at 2350 on the Janka scale is quite high. It is one of the hardest woods in the world. Compared with Red Oak, Jatoba is 81% harder than it was ash is 78% harder and 62% harder than maple sugar, 23% as Jarrah. All these figures indicate that Jatoba is Indeed one of the hardest woods today.
Jatoba has an interlocked grain and is high in density and therefore it might be a bit difficult to work with wood. However, it is very easy to obtain a smooth surface with wood sanding. Nailing is necessary before cutting or drilling wood. Jatoba is widely used today as an option to wooden floors because of its natural beauty and longevity.
