instead of using hardwood floors manufactured, can I use regular wood to a lumber yard?
instead of hardwood floors manufactured, can I use regular wood at a lumber yard? I looked at a lumber yard and they have wood like any hardwood flooring and other wood is about as flat as it can be and not distorted. it would be much cheaper and I would certainly not mind doing the work myself.
Your right, it would be cheaper, but you won t have a tongue and groove system for help both "lock" together to help pre vent squeaks and movement. No T & G and the edges will lift and you hit the edges and wear them down and wear out the stain and poly soon. The board nailed up the board should be nailed on. A poster has a good idea too. eh woods near oven-dried as before. This makes it very susceptible to warping and twisting. It will give you a rustic look if thats what you are going for. If you are willing to do it yourself, get raw wood floors prefinished unfinished not, save money and DIY installation sanding and finishing questions you can email me through my avatar.GL
