How do I remove an oil stain from light pine wood?
I borrowed a picture of some friends to an exhibition and transported in the trunk of my car without realizing that a can of diesel oil had been poured on the floor of the trunk. The painting is part of a pin of light and is now dyed in a small area along its front. I think that the oil entered the wood, despite the fact that slightly varnished. How can I remove the oil and restore the appearance of the image? I also need to clean the coating material trunk floor!
You can take a paper towel and place it on the wood. Then take a hot iron and iron lightly on the towel paper. The heat will bring the oil to the surface and soak. You must continue to use a clean paper towel once a part of the oil is in place so that you do not get the iron back on the wood. Repeat for the lining material in the trunk.
